Reps. Manweller and Dent appear on KBSN

Reps. Matt Manweller and Tom Dent spent some time with KBSN discussing the latest moves at the statehouse as the deadline fast approaches for the advancement of key bills.  Manweller, a Republican from Ellensburg, kicked things off by describing a planned day of floor action that quickly closed without any activity.  Legislation that was scheduled to be addressed simply did not have the votes, and the lawmakers went home without giving a single floor speech.  Said Manweller: “I always say, ‘A day where the legislature does nothing is a good day for the citizens of Washington.'”

Rep. Dent, R-Moses Lake, talked about his proposed legislation that could pave the way for GPS technology use in firefighting efforts.  He has been preparing for a public hearing on that measure as well as another which would make it possible for owners of livestock to retrieve their animals from DNR fire zones.
